What is ASHA?
ASHA is an educational charity working with young adults, and is the leading provider of the European Union’s Erasmus + programme in the U.K. ASHA uses non-formal methods of education, delivering residential training around three key pillars of personal and social development, namely Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue, Sustainability and the Arts. ASHA is also a venue for young volunteers from around the world to live and work together in community and in service of others.
The immediate context of this work is the ASHA Centre. It is a five acre site of inspiring natural beauty, cultivated according to organic principles, and which contains attractive residential and educational facilities. The beauty of the learning environment is fundamental to the transformative power of ASHA’s work, mirroring and supporting the social and self development cultivated there.
ASHA’s mission is to help inspire young people with a positive sense of purpose and meaning. It does so by addressing in an accessible and holisitic manner the way in which some of the principle challenges the world faces right now impact upon individuals and communities. These challenges include how to relate to the interaction of different cultures and world views, how to move towards a sustainable way of living on the earth, and how to cultivate social and inner peace.

AHSA is a Centre of excellence where pioneering ideas are put into practice and where service is not just a motto but reality. At ASHA hope becomes action. It is a magical place, where everyone feels at home and leaves transformed.
